Chef-owner Rocco Scordella

Italian cooking. California sense of place.

Rocco Scordella, a native of Italy, leads Vina Enoteca’s kitchen. Pasta, pizza and bread are made in-house, with the Stanford Educational Farm part of the restaurant’s sourcing story.

Our real photographs show the people, working kitchen, bar and dining room behind the experience.

Stanford Barn · 1886–1888

A winery’s story, still at the table.

The barn was built between 1886 and 1888 for the Stanford vineyards. Its first floor was devoted to cellarage, the second to fermentation and the third to crushing grapes.

The machinery was powered by a steam engine housed in a small brick building nearby. The wines were sold under the Palo Alto trademark. Today, Vina brings a new Italian table to this historic place.
